Privacy Policy — ניקוד לילדים (The Letter Journey)

Last updated: 28 July 2026

ניקוד לילדים (“the app”) is an educational app that helps young children learn the Hebrew alphabet and vowel signs (niqqud). It is developed and published by Guy Ben Moshe (“we”, “us”).

This app is designed for children. We have built it so that it collects no personal information whatsoever — not from children, and not from adults.

This policy covers the app on both Google Play (Android) and the Apple App Store (iOS). The app behaves identically on both.

The short version

What the app stores on your device

The app saves two small preferences on your device only — using Android’s own local storage (Jetpack DataStore) on Android, and the standard preferences system on iOS. This information never leaves your device, and we never see it:

What Why
Your chosen interface language (Hebrew, English, or Russian) So the app opens in the same language next time.
Whether the one-time “unlock everything” purchase has been made So paid content stays unlocked without asking the store on every launch.

Uninstalling the app removes both.

Permissions the app requests

On Android the app declares only the following permissions, and none of them is used to identify you or collect information about you:

Permission Why
VIBRATE Gentle haptic feedback when a child taps a letter or solves the door game.
com.android.vending.BILLING To offer the single optional in-app purchase through Google Play.
INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, WAKE_LOCK Merged in by the Google Play Billing library. The app itself makes no network requests of its own and sends nothing anywhere.
com.gbt.nikudkids.DYNAMIC_RECEIVER_NOT_EXPORTED_PERMISSION An automatically generated, app-private permission that keeps the Billing library’s internal broadcast receiver from being reachable by other apps.

The app requests no access to the camera, microphone, contacts, location, photos, files, or the advertising ID.

In-app purchase

The app offers a single, optional, one-time purchase that unlocks the full content. There is no subscription and no recurring charge.

On Android, purchases are handled entirely by Google Play. On iOS they are handled entirely by Apple. We never see, receive, or store your name, payment card, billing address, or Google/Apple account details. That transaction is governed by Google’s (or Apple’s) own privacy policy, not ours.

In line with Google Play’s Families policy and Apple’s rules for children’s apps, the purchase screen sits behind a parental gate: an adult must read a number written out in words and type it in before any payment can begin. A child cannot reach the purchase screen unaided.

Children’s privacy

This app is intended for young children. It collects no data at all, so there is no personal information of a child for us to use, share, sell, or disclose — to anyone, for any purpose. We comply with the US Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and Google Play’s Families policy.

The app contains no behavioural advertising, no contextual advertising, no analytics SDKs, and no third-party code that could collect information.

The only way to leave the app is an optional contact-email link on the About screen, which sits behind a parental gate so that a child cannot open it unaided.

Data we receive from the app stores

If you choose to contact us by email, we will see your email address and whatever you write to us — simply because you sent it. We use it only to reply to you, and we do not add it to any mailing list.

Google Play and Apple may provide us with aggregate, anonymous statistics about downloads, crashes and ratings. This information is not linked to any individual and cannot identify you or your child.

Data deletion

Because we hold no account and collect no data, there is nothing for us to delete on a server. Uninstalling the app removes everything it stored on the device. If you have emailed us and would like that correspondence deleted, write to the address below and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this address and the “last updated” date above will change. Because the app collects no data, we do not expect material changes.
